Murphy's Laws

  1. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong - at the most inappropriate time.
  2. Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
  3. Nothing is as easy as it looks.
  4. Everything takes longer than you think.
  5. Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first.
  6. Every solution breeds new problems.
  7. The legibility of handwriting is inversely proportional to its importance.
  8. No matter how perfect things are made to appear, Murphy's law will take effect and screw them up.
  9. The chance of the buttered side of the bread falling face down is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.
  10. A falling object will always land where it can do the most damage.
  11. A valuable dropped item will always fall into an inaccessible place.
  12. You will always find something in the last place you look.
  13. If you are looking for more than one thing, you'll find the most important one last.
  14. After you bought a replacement for something you've lost and searched for everywhere, you'll find the original.
  15. No matter how long or how hard you shop for an item, after you've bought it, it will be on sale somewhere cheaper.
  16. When you are waiting in a line, the other line always moves faster.
  17. Anything you try to fix will take longer and cost you more than you thought.
  18. When a broken appliance is demonstrated for the repairman, it will work perfectly.
  19. Build a system that even a fool can use, and only a fool will use it.
  20. Everyone has a scheme for getting rich that will not work.
  21. Murphy's golden rule: whoever has the gold makes the rules.
  22. If you think you are doing the right thing, chances are it will back-fire in your face.
  23. Just when you think things cannot get any worse, they will.
  24. Any time you put an item in a "safe place", it will never be seen again.
  25. Great ideas are never remembered and dumb statements are never forgotten.
  26. Traffic is inversely proportional to how late you are, or are going to be.
  27. The complexity and frustration factor is inversely proportional to how much time you have left to finish, and how important it is.
  28. The probability of being observed is in direct proportion to the stupidity of one's actions.
  29. Knowledge of Murphy's Law is no help in any situation.
  30. If many things can go wrong, they will all go wrong at the same time.
  31. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD.
  32. When you wear new shoes for the first time, everyone will step on them.
  33. If a Murphy's Law can go wrong, it will.
  34. You will find an easier way to do it, after you've finished doing it.
  35. Behind every little problem there's a larger problem, waiting for the little problem to get out of the way.
  36. When you really need something, it is either not available, or can't be found. When you don't need it, it is either available, or lies around in plain sight.
  37. The file you are looking for is always at the bottom of the largest pile.
  38. The likelihood of something happening is in inverse proportion to the desirability of it happening.
  39. The two most abundant things in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity.
  40. The difference between Stupidity and Genius is that Genius has its limits.
  41. Anything that seems right, is putting you into a false sense of security.
  42. If for some reason Murphy's Law fails to operate, it is building up for something big.
  43. Everything that could possibly go wrong for anyone else always seems to happen to you.
  44. The person ahead of you in the queue will have the most complex transaction possible.
  45. Every problem is replaceable with a bigger one.
  46. When you want to show something to someone, it will not show up.

"Distracted"

I can see the gleam in her eyes as she smiles..
But does she feel the same feel too
I can sense her thoughts far away
But she hasn't noticed me, somehow i know

I wanna be with her, night or day
Though I wonder, does she miss me too
I am in a stupor, I am hallucinating
And i know my feelings are true

She has got me distracted,so distracted
I can't sleep, I can't breathe
Somebody come and resuscitate me
Cause m distracted
because of you...

I don't wanna be alone..when the morning comes
Without her m alone.. Like a song never sung
But I don't get the vibes yet..not yet
I haven't had a chance yet..not yet

I wanna know you more, you are my contemplation
I wanna see you more, you are my deprivation
I wanna hold you close, you are my life's mission
I wanna hear you snore, you are my fascination

I admit that

She has got me distracted,so distracted
I can't sleep, I can't breathe
Somebody come and resuscitate me
Cause m distracted
because of you...

Baby would you let me close, let me make you mine
Cause i can feel that we are destined
In my heart I have got you enshrined
Let me be your distraction, distractified

I need her affection
I need her attention
I need a solution
To end my misery....

She's perfection
She's an angel
She's my treasure
and m living a fantasy...

She has got me distracted,so distracted
I can't sleep, I can't breathe
Somebody come and resuscitate me
Cause m distracted
because of you...

And I promise to keep you distracted... always

Life as it comes..

I tried too hard, I went too far
I lived my life and took its fall
I had to smile and had to laugh
I strived to hide and I was lost

Guess we all have tried to live life, and I am talking literally. We all go about living our lives for the sake of living, doing what we are supposed to do - not what we want to, living life as it comes...

As it is said- Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.

Lets start afresh, lets start anew. Its never too late....

THE PREFACE

Guys I am writing a book and here is its preface. I hope you like it. Do comment pls..

New Delhi
6th January, 2010

I pulled over my jacket and wore a woollen cap. I was already 15 minutes late. “Ma, I’m going outside, Will be back in an hour or so”, I shouted running outside. Ma replied just in time as I kick-started my 10-year old hero-honda bike, “Beta, come back before your dad arrives." I ignored her as I shifted gears and sped upon, cursing my bad luck for having such an old bike. Even my doodh-wala had a better one than me. The gate-keeper saluted as I crossed the superannuated gate of our dilapidated society. I took a left turn and reached Parsi-chowk. I glanced an eye on my petrol- indicator to make sure it had enough gas. The needle of my petrol indicator was somewhere near middle. Still I felt rather uneasy. I knew I was not mentally prepared for today.

But I had to leave all my worries behind. I was on a mission today. I knew Raj would be waiting for me at our usual tapra (meeting –place) at MG intersection, near our college. He was always punctual about time. As I sped on my bike, cold air of January rushed inside my helmet. It was almost freezing point outside. Roads were almost deserted, except for some couples who stood at one side of the road, each couple equally spaced with each other. I wondered whether they had co-ordinated their meeting points with each other. We usually referred to that side of the road as the ‘lover’s point’. I ignored them. My hands were near freezing as cold air slapped hard on them. I decided it was wiser to stick to just one gear during the entire journey. I kept one of my hands inside the pocket of my jacket. I checked to make sure the pistol which I had stolen from my uncle’s house while visiting him two days ago was still there. Since he leaved for his business trip to Ajmer that day, I knew he wouldn’t find it early. But I had to return it in 4 days to be safe. Therefore we decided to finish our job today itself. In the evening while keeping it in my pocket, I had made sure that the pistol was fully loaded. I did not know how to use it but Raj had assured me that he knew it. I prayed to God that Raj will not change his decision and everything will work according to our plan. I wanted it to be over soon.

Looking in the side mirror, I wondered where I had come in my life- from a school topper to college back-bencher, from being a regular temple visitor to being a regular gym visitor, from being teetotal to a compulsive drinker… But I realized I give a damn to it. To hell with this world and to hell with education. I would someday make a place in this world for my own. I would someday carve my own way.

Shit. I was getting late. I increased my speed and took a sharp turn left as I almost reached my destination. I saw Raj’s bike standing there and thanked God. I somehow knew that our plan was fool-proof. I had carefully prepared every intricate detail in the past few days. Hell, I had thought of everything which could go wrong and all possible circumstances. But I should have been prepared for the worse….

Thank you for visiting..
